Beyonce Steals the Show Again...LITERALLY!

Beyonce Knowles has been known to "borrow" just about everything she does. She lies about writing her own music, steals video ideas from lesser known artists, and even steals music from lesser known acts as well! Her entire image is basically one big copy and paste! Well, the "queen" of copying has done it again! She graced the stage at last weekend's Billboard Music Awards, and performed her latest flop "Girls Who Run the World." I saw the performance and while I absolutely hate the song, I thought her performance was amazing. I loved the choreography, concept, and usage of the screen. The effects were simply amazing! I was ready to give her credit for once. Well...not anymore! It appears that Mrs. Carter stole the exact routine, effects and EVERYTHING from an artist who performed at the Billboard awards in 2010. That's right, Beyonce stole her routine from lesser known artist, Lorella Cuccarini. Mind you, Lorella performed this exact same act at the show last year! Dear Beyonce...If you are going to do your normal "copy and paste" at least pick something that was done more than one freaking year ago. The fact that her team allowed this to happen is mind boggling. As an "artist" she should be ashamed of herself. Whatever happened to being creative and actually having a unique performance?? But enough talk...watch the video below to see what I am talking about. Beyonce's show is on the left side of the screen, and Lorella's performance is on the right.

Oh, and this is where Beyonce got her moves for the hit video "Single Ladies."

And lastly, she's stealing dance moves from another small group!

I picked it out! (Length Check Included)

Hola! I got a little bored tonight and decided to pic out my afro. Here's how it all went down. I was originally wearing a curly wash n' go today. It was really cute! Before showering tonight, I decided to comb my hair out into a big fluffy Angela Davis style afro! It is sooooo amazing what curly/kinky hair can do. One minute I'm rocking my curls and waves, and the next minute my hair is looking like a fluffy cloud of awesomeness...lol! Our hair truly is unique! If we want it straight...we can flat iron it. If we want it more defined...we can wear it curly. And if we want to be bold...we can rock it bigggg and fluffy. Aw...I love my hair! Check out my video to see how it turned out! Oh, I also have a length check in the video. I'm officially shoulder length. See for yourself! :)

Hot Spring/Summer Nail Polish Haul!

So...I went to Rite-Aid last Sunday! I went there for a few items, but it turned into a nail polish haul! I normally wear neutral tones, shades of pink, and occasionally I will wear black nail polish. I decided to step outside of my box and go for hot/bold spring and summer shades! I ended up leaving with five new shades for only $5! Talk about a deal! I got four Wet N' Wild" nail polishes, and one Maybelline Express nail polish. The Wet N' Wild ones were on sale for 99 cents a bottle, andddd they were buy on get one free. So I got four of those! The Maybelline Express was originally $4, but they had an in store coupon for $1 off...so I ended up getting the Maybelline Express for only three bucks. So in total, I got five bottles of amazing nail polish for 5 bucks...yay! I made a video about my haul. Feel free to watch it by clicking here! Also, I painted my left hand in order to test out the polishes. It came out nice! I don't plan on going outside of the house like this though...lol. I just wanted to see what they look like on my nails. I have pics and a mini review of each nail polish below. Enjoy! Looking at these colors makes me think of candy...yummy!

Wet N' Wild 33628 "Easy Peasy Lemonhead Squeezy"

I LOVEE this color! This bright yellow looks especially nice against my skin tone (NC45). Since the color is soooo light, it took quite a few coats to get it looking "complete." However, I love this shade, and I can't wait to paint all of my nails this color.
It dried very fast as well!

Maybelline New York Express Finish 654 "Orange Breeze"

-I love this shade as well. It went on completely in only two coats, and dried in about 1 minute!

Wet N' Wild 33632 "NERDS Need Love Too"

-I like this shade! It isn't my favorite though. It went on really well, and the coverage was nice. It only took about two coats to achieve this look. It dried very fast as well!

Wet N' Wild 33626 "Made From 100% Cotton Candy"

-Simply A-maze-ing! This is one of my favorites out of the bunch! The loud color looks great against my skin, and it can be worn to work or play.
It dried very fast as well!

Wet N' Wild 33629 "Toss Me A LIFESAVERS"

-This one is def a fun color! It went on very easy as well, with only two coats. It dried very fast as well!

My Eco Styler Custard...

I ended up making some of the glorious eco styler gel custard yesterday! I have heard soooooo much about this, so I had to try it for myself. My version varies from the original one because I decided to just use things I already have instead of going out and buying more oils and etc. I made my concoction using items that I know work for me. The results were amazing! My hair is now soft, but it has hold. I think I will use this as my styling agent for my daily wash n' goes since it provides hold without the crunch and etc! I have only used it on a twist out thus far, but I will be using it for my wash n' go either tomorrow or the day after, so I will let you all know how my curls like it then. But enough talk...here is what I used to make the custard.

Ingredients:

  • 4 Teaspoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil(the Kroger brand)
  • 4 Teaspoons of Eco Stlyer Gel with Olive Oil (from Sally's)
  • 1 Teaspoon of Giovanni Direct Leave-In Conditioner (from Target)
  • 1 Teaspoon of Kinky Curly Curling Custard (from Whole Foods)
  • 1 Teaspoon of Kinky Curly Knot Today

Directions:
  • Scoop gel into a small mixing bowl
  • Add in Extra virgin olive oil
  • Stir until mixed thoroughly
  • Then add in all other ingredients
  • Stir the mixture for about 2 minutes
  • When the mixture is ready, it will be a cloudy/creamy white color
  • The texture will be similar to yogurt...VERYYYY thick
  • Your end result should be thick, creamy, and just plain awesome!

My FIRST Attempt at 2-Strand Twists/ a Twist-Out...

So, last night I gave in and decided to try something new...a twist out. I co-washed my hair as usual, and then applied some Giovanni Direct Leave In mixed with Kinky Curly Knot Today. I then sealed my hair with some coconut oil and then applied my styling agent. For my styling agent I used a homemade Eco Stlyer gel custard. This stuff worked AMAZING! My hair dried soft and without any crunch! I will discuss how I made my custard in another post though. But anywho, it took me about an hour to twist all of my hair up last night. I then put on my satin bonnet and let my hair dry overnight. I think my curls in the back were elongated...which I like. However, I prefer my natural curl pattern in the front over the pattern the twist out gave my bang area. Overall, I think it is best for me to just do wash n' goes at this point. It's quicker, and gets the job done. The twist outs might be a great way to style the back of my hair though. That way it loosens up some and blends better with the front. Either way, it is safe to say I will probably save the wash n' goes for a time when I get more length. My results are in the pics and video below! Enjoy!

Big Chop Reactions!

So far, my experience as a natural has been pretty good. It started off a bit rocky though...lol. Check out the video below to see how my family, friends, and I have reacted to my big chop.

One Month Post Big Chop:My Current Regimen

I have been natural for exactly on month now! Wooo hoooo!!!! My hair has been doing amazing and has grown to shoulder length already in the back! The front is just chin length though. I haven't had any shedding or anything. Here is a video update on how I have been styling and caring for my hair. I forgot to add in the video that I simply detangle my hair in the shower with a wide tooth comb. Other than that, I do not comb my hair. I simply "finger comb" it in the shower daily instead while it's conditioning. Also, at night, I sleep with a satin bonnet on. So check out the video below for a detailed explanation of my current regimen. And of course, I have provided tonsss of pictures from today as well.
