My First Half Wig: "Kelly" by New Born Free

Hello heart breakers! First, let me start by saying I missed you guys! I have been gone for a while, but I am back with a review! This is my first time ever trying a half wig, so I am super excited. I have been wearing my natural hair out in wash and goes all winter(even though it is cold). This means I leave the house with wet hair every morning. I decided to give my hair a break and try something new. I wanted to try a half wig because I wanted the option of wearing some of my own hair out and giving my hairline a break. So....I went on a search for the perfect kinky/curly lace wig and decided to go with "Kelly" from New Born Free. She was sent to me by divatress.com. She is sooooo fierce! I have been getting tons of compliments too. Overall, I am happy with my choice, and I think "Kelly" might become a fav of mine. I could go on, but I think you should just watch my video review instead. Click here to watch my Youtube review of  "Kelly." And of  course, here are a few pics. Toodles!

Halloween Makeup and Costume Trial

Hey guys! I asked you all for feedback a few weeks ago on which costume to pick. Well, I ended up going with something completely different than the ones I had on my list before. I decided to go with a cougar costume. I saw a picture of Kim Kardashian wearing one, and I thought it flattered her curvy figure really well. Here's the picture of Kim wearing hers...

I love the way hers was made, but couldn't find the exact one, so I went with a look alike. I found one made by the company Leg Avenue. It is realllyyyy cute!

I got it online from partycity.com for a little around $50. Here is a video of me testing mine out. There are tons of pictures of me at the end! Please ignore my silly poses!

And here's a tutorial on how I did the makeup!

The awesome thing about this costume is that it can be transformed into at least two other costumes just in case I want to go to multiple Halloween parties and change it up at each one. I could go as a cougar to one. And if I want to be something else, I can just wear the catsuit, cut off the tail and slap on a blond wig. And BAM...I am Nicky Minaj.

And if I want to change it up again, I could just slap on a cave woman wig, and BAM....I am a cave woman.

And if I want to take it back to the 90's I can be Peg Bundy (or even a street walker) lol!

Halloween Outfit 2011....HELPPPPPP!

Hello heartbreakers! I am back with a special request. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday of the year. Well, aside from my birthday. Anywho, I always end up beginning my preparation months in advance and have even ordered multiple costumes at a time simply because I couldn't make up my mind on which one was the best option. Well, this year I am in a time crunch and can't make up my mind once again. I refuse to buy multiple costumes, so I am relying on you guys to help a sister out. Take a look at the choices below, and leave your vote in the comment section of this post. I would like to get things ordered no later than Monday the 17th to ensure that it arrives in time. I might have to order sooner if the items are coming from China or somewhere else outside of the country. With that said, lets get to the costumes. Oh, and thanks for your help.

Costumes that can be bought locally/in the US:

1.) The Joker from "The Dark Night" movie:

I actually decided last year that I wanted  to do this costume after watching fellow Youtber MsVaugn's Halloween costume. She was the joker last year and it was fierce! Her kinks and curls were spray painted green and the outfit was too cute! She put her costume together herself by using items from various stores. Here's a video of her "Joker" costume.

Joker Costume Pros:
  • It is scary and has a true spooky Halloween feel
  • It's unique, so I doubt there will be any other women wearing a Joker costume (most dress skimpy).
  • I can get my creative juices flowing by doing my face paint, scars, and shopping for costume pieces.
  • My hair is the perfect length for this look.

Joker Costume Cons:
  • Aside from wearing tight pants with this costume, it lacks obvious sex appeal.
  • Will people even know I am a woman lol?
  • Kissing hubby might be weird with all of the red lipstick, scars, and makeup...
  • I would have to run around town going from store-to-store looking for all of the costume pieces.

 2.) Hello Kitty

I saw this costume in Party City last week, and thought it was cute. I didn't really give it anymore thought until I saw a video of Youtube guru NitraaB in it today! She did a Halloween makeup tutorial wearing the costume and I thought it was sooooo cute! Click here to see the video of NitraaB wearing the costume.

Here's an official picture of the company's model wearing the costume as well.

I would wear it with cute sexy makeup. I am debating doing something like Nitraab's makeup or maybe actually painting my face white and going with a more kitty-like appearance like the person in the picture below.

Either way, I think I would look hot. Why??? Because I would be wearing them with a pair hot pink and black leopard print 5 1/2 inch heel stilettos that I just bought. I got these awesome shoes from amiclubwear.com last month for $18.99. They are definitely smexayyyyy!

Hello Kitty Costume Pros:
  • It can be found locally.
  • It is inexpensive.  :)
  • It will give me a chance to wear my sexy leopard shoes.
  • My legs will look beyond fabulous in the skirt, especially with the heels.
  • It hides my tummy area while still showing off my curves up top.
  • It's sexy without being too revealing.
  • It is cute and fun!
  • And most importantly...I love Hello Kitty!

Hello Kitty Costume Cons:
  • My nicely shaped booty might make the back of the skirt ride up...not sure though.
  • While the leopard shoes are sexy, they are hard to walk in at times due to the height and shoe fit.
  • I wonder if it will be popular this year. I don't want to run into 10 hoochies wearing my outfit lol.

3.) Pregnant Beyonce

Her "Single Ladies" video was a hit. I've seen many people put on a black unitard and parade around as Beyonce. But I have never seen a pregnant beyonce Halloween costume. I think it would be hilarious to get a black unitard and wear a fake belly bump.

Pregnant Beyonce Pros:
  •  It is relevant to current pop culture news.
  • It would be relatively easy to put all of the pieces together.
  • It would be hilarious!
  • I would be wearing a baby bump prosthetic...just like beyonce.
  • Don't have to worry about having a flat tummy when you are going as a pregnant person with a prosthetic bump!
  • I don't think there will be many people in this costume, but I could be wrong.
Pregnant Beyonce Cons:
  • It might be a little cool outside if we go to the haunted house and have to walk after parking.
  • It's not very sexy or cute.
  • I might feel a bit naked...idk.

4.) Sexy Edward Scissorhands:

This isn't really one of my favorite options, but it can be found locally at party city. I like it, but then then there is something about it that bothers me. I think it is because it is kinda sexy...kinda scary...but not really enough of either. What do you guys think??

Costumes that CANNOT be bought in the US:

5.) "Yoruichi"  from Bleach
This is who I reallllly wanted to be this year! Now that hubby and I watch Anime together, I thought it would be cute if I went as Yoruichi and hubby went as Urahara. He looks like Urahara, and I look like Yoruichi, so it would be perfect! I have spent several hours looking into ordering the costume, but everything is sold outside of the USA, so ordering now would be a complete gamble! Some places have said they could get it here in time, but it would be cutting it close.

Yoruichi and Urahara are love interests on the show, so it would be a great couple's costume idea for us!

Yoruichi Pros:
  • It is unique...there won't be any other girls with this costume.
  • Hubby and I can have a couple's costume...how cute!
  •  Her character resembles me. I have cat eyes and dark skin.
  •  I would feel "bad-ass" in this costume because she is such a strong character.
  • It is sexy without being skimpy.

Yoruichi Cons:
  • I would have to buy all items from outside of the US.
  • I would have to pay regular international shipping rates PLUS express shipping fees...expensive!
  • A few of the items are coming from different stores, so that = LOTS of shipping fees.
  • Unless people watch Anime, they will have no clue who I am dressed as.

Meet My New Blonde Bob wig "Toby"

Holas mis amigas! I am back with a wig review for you guys! I have been hearing and seeing rave reviews about "Toby" from the Vanessa 5th Avenue Collection, so I decided to give her a try! I'm wearing her in the color V613, which is a platinum blonde frosted over an off black color. This was my first time wearing a short straight/bob style before, so I was super excited about it! The bold pop of color also lured me in as well. Overall...I would say I like this wig. I would definitely order it again! To see my detailed review, please watch my review video. In the video, I give a complete list of pros and cons on the wig and more! Plus you will also get a closer look at the wig in action! Click here to watch my review! Also, this wig was sent to me by samsbeauty.com, but my review of it is 100 % honest. Toby  is currently priced at $25.99 on their site. Click here to purchase her!  Also, here's a look at seven hot ways to rock  Miss Toby...

Look # 1...An exaggerated feathered swoop, and a part on the left side!

Look # 2...A normal swoop with the part on the left. The sideburns are tucked behind my ears for this look!

Look # 3... I added a cute little bow! Looks kind of emo right? :)

Look # 4:...Parted on the right side with a normal swoop. All sideburns are combed down!

Look # 5.... Add a beanie!

Look #6......I combed all of the blonde bangs over to the left side. This gives a dramatic two-toned effect. Very punk rock!

Look # 7...A headband added to the look above!

The Best Orange Lipstick...Ever!

Orange has been popping up everywhere lately, and it isn't because Halloween is around the corner. That's right, the color usually associated with the fall season has made a major dent in spring and summer fashion this year! The hottest color right now is wearing a bold orange lip! I find the whole orange lipstick trend to be very interesting. Current fashion is heavily influenced by trends from the late 80's and early 90's right now, so I guess it makes sense that the bold look would make a comeback. I remember this color being really trendy when I was a child. It seemed as if all of the women in r&b videos were wearing it...especially women with darker skin tones. I thought it was so beautiful! My mom also wore various shades of orange lipstick back then as well. A few months ago, I decided to give orange lipstick a try. I went to my local Walmart and purchased Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in the color "Siren" 677. It was around $5 to $7 (which isn't bad at all).

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in "Siren" 677
It is a true hot/ bold orange color! I love this color! I think it pops against my skin so nicely! Also, it would be great to wear in the fall as well! As far as the texture is concerned, the lipstick is smooth and creamy, so you don't need to wear gloss with it. The only negative thing I can say is that it kept getting on my teeth. However, I think that was more so because I have braces and they tend to stick out and rub against my lips. Otherwise, I like the lipstick. You can build it to your desired level of pigment. So if you are not ready to go realllllly bold just yet, start with one layer of it. It will look a little redish that way. However, if you want a bright/hot orange look...just layer it up! I think this lipstick is definitely a keeper. It won't be an everyday staple of mine, but I will wear it whenever I want to make a statement! Want to see more pictures of me wearing the  "Siren" shade??? Click here to see my video review of the lipstick. It  includes more pictures of me wearing this lipstick! But for now, I will leave you guys with a walk down orange lipstick memory lane. Toodles!

Kiss My Fat......

Skinny Martina in 2005!
We've all been there are what point or another. You know, that moment when you realize it is time to lose some weight! I have been there several times over the years, and I am there again now! Click here to see my official weight loss journey announcement video. It includes pictures of my weight gain throughout the last few years!

I started trying to lose some weight a few months ago, and it has paid off! I have lost about 11 pounds within the last month and a half or two months! I was doing this in secret, but I realized that it was time to announce my weight loss journey to you all. I want to lose about 20-30 additional pounds, and I want you guys there every step of the way. I plan on sharing my diet & exercise routine as well as how I feel emotionally. I am in the process of trying to figure out exactly how I want to do this. Right now, I am thinking of making 1-2 videos weekly about my weigh-loss and then blogging daily about how each day goes. I am not sure how I want to go about this though. At any rate, I will be sharing my journey with you guys, and I look forward to that. Hopefully you can help keep me on the right track. I don't want to get back to my weight in the picture, but I do want to be smaller and in better shape!

My New Eyeshadow Palette and etc!

Hey guys! I have been very interested in wearing eyeshadow more often. I have only worn it on special occasions like date nights, formals, parties, and etc. The pictures below are examples of my eye shadow routine for special occasions and nights out on the town!

At a formal Event in 2008!

A casual night out on the town  in 2010!

In my daily life, I just stick to my signature black eye liner look, and it works fine for me. However, I would like to start incorporating eyeshadow in my routine maybe twice a week or so! I recently received an awesome eyeshadow palette from Samsbeauty.com. It is the Beauty Treats 120 Professional Palette, and it is $14.99 right now on their website. They sent it to me for  free, but I will give my honest opinion on the product anyway. They also sent me The Ruby Kisses 24 HRS Eyeshadow Magic Primer ($4.95) and an NYX Jumbo Pencil($3.49) in the color "Milk."  I realllllly like all of the products! The eyeshadow palette has a variety of warm and cool colors, so there are shades in their for all year round! The shadow goes no really well and can be built up to your desired level of pigment depending upon what method of application you use. The Ruby Kisses primer and NYX pencil are also great tools to help achieve a more pigmented shadow. I think this is definitely an inexpensive way to to started on my eyeshadow journey. If any of you want to get into wearing eye shadow, I would recommend starting with these items. Click here to see my video review of the products. In the video I give the pros and cons, and also demonstrate how the colors look when applied.

My Natural Hair Puff Tutorial

Hello heart breakers! A few weeks ago I posted a video on Youtube showing you all a new style that I tried for the first time. It was an afro puff/ponytail that made me feel like Esperanza Spalding at the Grammy awards this year haha! Please keep in mind that this style is NOT an exact replication of Esperanza's hair style. I received several requests to make a tutorial video showing exactly how I achieved the look. Well, I am here with that video today! Please check out the video if you are interested in giving this style a try. It is simple and a great style to try if you are looking for "2nd day hair." In fact, this puff is the only style that I can actually achieve 2nd day hair with at the moment! At any rate, I enjoyed making this video for you guys, and I love the way my hair looks when I wear this style. I hope you love it as much as I do! Click "Read More" to see the pictures and video!

14 Months Post Relaxer (4 months Natural) Update!!

It has been a while since I have posted any updates about my natural hair! Well, I am now 14 months post relaxer and four months natural...yay! I randomly decided to flat iron part of my hair today for a length check. Please keep in mind that I didn't use a lot of heat, so my hair is still frizzy in the pictures and video below. Also, I  flat ironed my hair "dirty" so it is not as bouncy and light as it would be if it was freshly washed. However, .my hair is in great shape right now, and has grown at least an inch or more since June! My ends are still uneven since I did my own big chop, but I will get them evened up at some point. Otherwise my hair looks great to me. If you would like to compare what my hair looks like now to what it looked like two months ago...please click here to see my June update pictures and video. Anywho, please watch the video below for a full update on my current length, regimen, and emotional state! Click "Read More" to see the pictures and video!

Her death comes after a few years of ups and downs and a very public battle with drug and alcohol addiction. Her official cause of death has not yet been released, but many speculate that it was likely a drug overdose. Avocado Disaster Update!

Hey heart breakers! I am back with an update on how the avocado fiasco worked out. If you have no clue what I am referring to, please click here to read about what happened to me a few days ago. So last time I left you guys, I was headed to the shower. I Shampooed my hair with Roux Porosity Control shampoo. I  then did an Aphogee 2 minute protein treatment. I followed that up with Roux Porosity Control Conditioner. While that was still in my hair, I combed through my hair in tiny sections. I never really comb my hair, but I wanted to make sure I got all of the avocado crud out of my hair this time lol. So, combing through my hair in tiny sections was about a 40 minute process...whew! My hair is reallllllly thick, so that's why it took so long! I then hopped back in the shower and rinsed out the Roux Conditioner. After getting out of the shower, I noticed that my hair seemed to be pretty much back to normal. Pictures of my end result are below...

J-lo & Marc Anthony Have Called It Quits!

Well it seems like Jenny is headed back to the block...to find a new man! Jennifer Lopez and her husband of seven years, Marc Anthony are now headed for divorce court. The couple announced their split yesterday via a press release to People Magazine."We have decided to end our marriage," they tell PEOPLE in a joint statement. "This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters." For most people, this might seem like a relatively short marriage. However, given Lopez's trail of short and failed marriages...7 years is actually a long time. In my opinion, Lopez would be better off never getting married again. It's obvious that she is simply not marriage material. Sadly, Lopez and Anthony's split will now be further complicated because they have children together.

Lopez and Anthony with twins Max and Emme

Lopez gave birth to twins three years ago, so it will be interesting to see how they will be effected by the divorce. Bouncing from man-to-man will likely be hard on her children in the long run. Jenny's revolving door could leave those poor kids with "are you my daddy?" syndrome. But I digress! I have to admit, I didn't think they would last initially. However, after a few years, I thought maybe...just maybeeee this one would work. I guess in true Hollywood style relationships just aren't meant to last.
